13D Research featured LVW Advisors founder, Lori Van Dusen

13D Global Strategy & Research released an article on March 7, 2019 titled: The Future of Finance Will Be Female (Part 1). The article, just in time for International Women’s Day, re-enforces the amazing influence women have in shaping the financial industry’s future.

“Thirty years ago, Lori Van Dusen, CEO of LVW Advisors, was an outlier in the wealth advisory world. She invested her clients’ money based on their goals- a bucket for essentials, one for aspirations, and one for legacy. The different goals determined the rick tolerance. In the past few years, many of the big, advisory firms have adopted a variation of this goal-oriented methodology.

Not only did Van Dusen recognize how to relate to the female investor, her approcah foresaw two more recent trends – behavioral economics and indexing.”

Fear and Greed are Undefeated in the Markets.

The Wealth of Common Sense blog recently had an awesome post about the psychology of the stock market. Below is an excerpt from that piece.

“This market is rolling simply because it’s rolling.”

I love learning about market history but often times you’re reading a historical account which was pieced together many years after the fact. I like reading what people were thinking and feeling at the time to get a sense of how investors handled their business in the moment of maximum optimism or pessimism.

5th Annual RIA Central Investment Forum

Senior Partner, Rick Van Kuren attended the 5th Annual RIA Central Investment Forum in Chicago in April.  While in attendance, he had the honor of moderating several presentations focused on Emerging Markets, using fixed income ETFs to construct custom portfolios, and Venture Capital. It was a great opportunity to collaborate with other investment experts from around the country!
